I agree, it's just getting vandalized --121.214.35.71 (talk) 00:50, 12 February 2011 (UTC).

Source 1 seems somewhat unreliable... 109.158.245.19 (talk) 17:16, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

LA Times is unreliable source ? Why ? Sir Lothar (talk) 09:19, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Yeah it's always been a highly speculative article, citing anon sources with supposed inside info. Newer interviews are coming out with some conflicting information about the makeup of the development team than what's listed in the speculative LA Times article: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/111768-Raven-Sledgehammer-Just-Other-Parts-of-the-MW3-Team-Says-Infinity-Ward 96.247.124.5 (talk) 07:21, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

"Set to be released in november" should be "rumored to be". It has not been announced by activision, and with the problems they've had with IW, it could very likely be delayed. After E3 it will probably be changed back, but let's not mislead people in the meantime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by It is speculation but of the most likely, whoever put citation needed clearly has never played or followed call of duty, for as long as can remember it has come out in november, because activision makes sure that treyarch/inf. ward get the november - near christmas slot. It sounds like some kind of annoying little kid who says, "i know it's been released then for the last 5 years but who knows MAYBE they could change it this year for no reason, which in itself IS SPECULATION and is much less likely to be true."

"whoever put citation needed clearly has never played CoD(...)" and whoever wrote up this comment, clearly never read Wikipedia rules, especially Wikipedia:Verifiability. I recommend reading it first, Sir Lothar (talk) 09:01, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Stop putting words in my mouth (fos) i said played or followed, which means a different thing, what i'm saying is that it could be interpereted as speculation but the november release is when all the call of dutys are schedualled -sorry can't write- to be released, you wikipedia people are really infuriating because you always cite the - i know its obvious and there is no need at this moment to question it, but i will delete your info because it could not happen - despite the fact that the chances of it not are very very unlikely - and also because i want to feel powerful, when in fact i am sitting alone in front of a computer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.19.56.111 (talk) 23:01, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

So, if you read Wikipedia:Verifiability (which is one of the most basic rule of this project) what's the problem then ? It clearly states, that we put only information which has been published somewhere (newspapers, magazines, portals etc.). We don't speculate/interpret, we only put verifiable facts in articles. The template [citation needed] is just for such information. Sir Lothar (talk) 12:24, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

stop deleting my replies please, it doesn't help with the whole we are not people who set out to annoy others thing — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.19.57.251 (talk) 15:05, 2 June 2011 (UTC) revision, could you also stop flagging my replies for a personal attack on you when they are nothing of the sort ALSO don't say my last comment was an attack on you because IT WASN'T just because i say something you don't like DOESN'T MAKE IT A PERSONAL ATTACK!

Edit request from 24.179.166.190, 30 March 2011

MW3 (MODERN WARFARE 3) is not coming out November 11th it will be coming out November 9th 2011 as IW annouced :P They will be telling us if they are going to be making the game or not by September 1st 2011 on InfinityWard.com 24.179.166.190 (talk) 23:33, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Not done Please submit your request in the form "Please change X to Y." Current version states "set to be released in November 2011[citation needed]", which (IMO) is good enough for a speculated ("They will be telling us if they are going to be making the game or not by September 1st 2011" game. Thank you. – Ajltalk 05:44, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
How can you speculate the release date man? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.147.203.190 (talk) 04:23, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Release Date

The release date should either be removed (since nobody has confirmed that the next game is MW3), or changed to "speculated" or "rumored". — Preceding unsigned comment added by DanielDPeterson (talkcontribs) 17:49, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

The release date will be the 8th of Novemeber and can be confirmed here http://www.callofdutymodernwarfare3.co.uk/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alanchar1978 (talkcontribs) 11:12, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Official Reveal Trailer and website

Sorry this is posted awkwardly, but I'm not a member and can't be bothered to be one right now. Please add the following to the article:

Official website: http://www.callofduty.com/mw3/

Official Reveal Trailer for MW3 with Game footage: http://www.callofduty.com/mw3/videos/reveal

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AcqeE3RJZk — Preceding unsigned comment added by TechGrabber (talkcontribs) 01:08, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Please add this. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.76.62.211 (talk) 00:19, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

To be honest, this website (and I would put money on it) doesn't look like a website activision would set up. To me, it just looks like a fansite, as shown down in the bottom when it says (and I quote) "OMG, how good does this Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 reveal trailer look? We are more than excited!" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.90.27.43 (talk) 07:58, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

LOL are you nuts? This website belongs to Activision and is in existence since Call of Duty's first day. Please do not comment unless you have any idea. Go check DNS records. 78.179.6.104 (talk) 09:02, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Please replace the link to the official site with http://www.callofduty.com/mw3 The current one (http://modernwarfare3.com/) is a parody stunt to redirect people to a competitor site (BF3). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.103.197.250 (talk) 23:09, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Article propsed for deletion?

I don't see how this article deserves a PROD.There's nothing wrong in this article.--Damirgraffiti ☺Say Yo to Me!☺ 00:32, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and you will see. There is not enough coverage yet for it to be a split article. Being "OMG CoD:MW3!!@!@!@!" doesn't mean anything. Blake (Talk·Edits) 01:00, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
I understand.Now I know why this is article is PROD.Thank you.--Damirgraffiti ☺Say Yo to Me!☺ 02:09, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Strongly disagreeing here, MW3 deserves an article at this point, since a press release is most likely to happen in the next few months and most fans understand it will be released this year. Although the article itself is really lacking at this point and is merely a compilation of rumors and hear-say from third party sources, especially the ghost section. Regardless, this article should not be removed, IMO.--71.196.147.201 (talk) 03:01, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
When more information is announced, then the article can be brought back. Until then, it will be located at Call of Duty#Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It simply isn't enough for a full article at this point. Blake (Talk·Edits) 03:10, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Error references

Someone removed the references resulting in an error.Could someone fix that error?--Damirgraffiti ☺Say Yo to Me!☺ 00:44, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Repaired, Sir Lothar (talk) 10:05, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

I just added refs, well one ref, to the Kotaku article, yet, it seems to be seen as three refs. If someone could fix that who knows more than I, it would be appreciated. Dbrodbeck (talk) 11:20, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

OK, done. You can use <ref name="source1"> </ref> when you want to cite source in multiple places. Sir Lothar (talk) 11:29, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, you know, I think I knew that... I apparently totally forgot however. Dbrodbeck (talk) 20:54, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Plots & Spoilers

I already found a plotline at this link, however, due to my unfamiliarity with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, I am unsure if there is a policy involving storyline spoilers, or if this information will be regarded as speculation. So instead of adding it directly onto the article under the "Plot" section, I'm just putting this link on the discussion here until further action is needed. Thank you. --Blemo 23 ɸ TALKCONTRIBUTIONSEMAILMESSAGE

Thanks for this. We don't worry about spoilers here, but we will need a better source for the story line. Take a look at WP:RS to give you an idea on the source question. Dbrodbeck (talk) 17:22, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
I think we can cover the entire leak reported by Kotaku covered here and here as an incident itself. This leak by Kotaku was widely reported on several other gaming sites like PC gamer and RPS. I'll help add content in the next day or two. Chocolate Horlicks (talk) 02:31, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

The game hasn't been "banned," but there certain is controversy over the London Underground scenes, as per reports in Metro & Daily Mail. This is surely enough coverage to warrant inclusion in a "controversy" category? Nick Cooper (talk) 12:14, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

certainly has not been banned. there are adverts of the attacks in london on TV so i dont honestly know how much controversy there really is, if there was that much controversy they would have been forced to edit the England footage out of the adverts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.20.201.105 (talk) 22:18, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

MW3 is Coming to Wii, NDS

The Wii and NDS versions of COD MW3 are listed for pre-order on Gamestop, as well as being showcased in Gamestop's 7/20/11 weekly ad. Just sharing this so it can be updated in the platforms section of the page. --68.199.141.114 (talk) 17:24, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Here's both. For the weekly ad, look at the bottom print on pg. 2 where the X360 boxart for it is shown. It says "also for PS3, PC, Wii, and NDS."

adding edit request

{tn|{Request edit}} Please add a section and references to the game's pricing. In australia it's becoming a concern, especially with their strong currency. I'm not aware of any other game in the history of PC gaming that costs £44.99 other than another release by activision - Starcraft II - http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/starcraft-ii-gets-44-99-rrp

What, exactly, do you suggest we add? As a person looking at these requests, I can only evaluate something like 'please add THIS' for THESE reasons'.
"Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y".  Chzz  ►  03:06, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
