"Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District"[edit]

Under "Quality of Life" there is a reference to what the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District does but not reference to them directly - "Many sports leagues, including adult leagues, such as baseball, basketball, football, and the largest AYSO soccer league west of the Mississippi are located in Camarillo. An outdoor in-line hockey rink is in Freedom Park, near the Camarillo Airport." It would be helpful to further explain about the Park District and what they do. Here is a start:

"The Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District, an independent special district, was formed in January 1962 under the State Public Resource Code of California. The birth of the District was approved by voters in the Camarillo community to provide quality programs, parks and facilities that can be enjoyed by everyone.

The District is located in and around the city of Camarillo, serves a population of over 70,000 and covers an area approximately 45 square miles. It has grown from one park and 30 acres to 28 parks and over 300 acres since its inception 50 years ago.

Within the District, a variety of recreational facilities exist including:

Senior Center

 *Indoor Aquatic Center
 *Community Center
 *Dog Parks
 *Lighted Ball Fields
 *Tennis Courts
 *Running Track
 *Walking Paths
 *Soccer Fields
 *Hiking Trails
 *Picnic Shelters
 *Children's Play Equipment
 *Skatepark
 *Barbecue Areas
 *Roller Hockey Rink
 *R/C track

The District is a separate government agency from the City of Camarillo. The boundaries of the District also varies from the City of Camarillo. See map for boundaries. The District is governed by publicly elected Board of Directors and is managed by the District’s General Manager.

Camarillo Airport[edit]

Point taken: This is a project waiting for someone to straighten it all out. Do you have a readily available source? Street fair?

I think this is referring to the Fiesta, and if it is, then it's got the name wrong, and also the Fiesta is on the southern side of the freeway, except for the antique cars, some of which are actually parked literally over the freeway (on the section of Arneill between Daily and Ventura).47.139.42.46 (talk) 05:43, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
