Pox source

[edit]

looking for a source for the candy's alternative name of Pox. Can anyone help with that?

Scare?

[edit]

Was there some kind of scare over these? If I recall correctly, someone thought that candy buttons looked so much like medical pills that the effect would be to make children more tempted to eat medical pills, thinking that they were candy buttons.

Possibly this happened in the UK? I haven't looked terribly hard, but I haven't seen them on sale in the UK. (UK person here) RedTomato (talk) 10:55, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In my experience anyone who made the mistake of eating these would be less likely to eat anything that looked similar in the future. Mmm, crunchy bits of icing and waxed paper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cutoffyourjib (talkcontribs) 03:15, 8 June 2012‎
