All models of the FTb had the quick load system. For the first year or two of production, the FT, on which the FTb was heavily based, didn't have the quick load system. When the FT was revised into the FTb in 1971, the QL system was retained for all models. Incidentally, non-QL FTs are somewhat rare. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.118.70.185 (talk) 02:03, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that between the first FTb and the later FTbN Canon also called a model 'FTb QL' which I had in the early 1970's. QL stood for 'Quick Load' - a delicate looking metal probe allowed the film leader to be simply passed as far across the film plane towards the take-up spool and provided it was across the gate as far as a red index mark the camera back could be closed and film wind-on was consistently safe. Was this a separate model, a mere development, or has this designation been omitted from the title of this page - 'FTb'?(Photo44 23:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)).[reply]

support the FTb QL as mentioned above, body available in black (quite rare?) or chrome, and also reminded me of a later version - FTbn QL. The model was probably derived from the earlier FT QL, ?FL lens mount, and this could make the Canonflex RM & Pellix the start of this model line. Photo44 22:21, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
