Merger Proposal[edit]

i porpose that Captain (United States O-6) be merged into Captain (naval). Why have two articles onthe same subject?--Petebutt (talk) 07:19, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Are you also going to propose that we merge Captain (Royal Navy), Kapitän zur See, and Ship-of-the-line captain to this article? - BilCat (talk) 07:54, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Oppose - For exactly the same reason as BilCat. (Plus all the other articles BilCat didn't mention.) Pdfpdf (talk) 13:22, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

A proposition[edit]

How about writing something about naval captains who are not corresponding to land colonels (for example in Poland)? I'm not sure, so I won't write this, but maybe it should be here. (talk) 12:55, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Actually, Finland has somewhat similar system than Poland. Why it is not mentioned? Equivalent rank is commodore (kommodori) and there is captain lieutenant (kapteeniluutnantti) which equals captain of land forces. (talk) 00:01, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
