Bells

[edit]

Not sure what you want to change it to, but the bells of Trinity Church, Wall Street, New York are another ring of 12 change-ringing bells in North America and are heavier than those at St James, Toronto —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.44.127.124 (talk) 14:30, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's an encyclopedic article, not an essay

[edit]

I see that there are a lot of talented writers drawn to this article, but remember that this is an encyclopedia. Thus, your theses or opinions on Gothic cathedrals or what's the most significant part (unless it's immediately clear to an average person) is not appropriate. As objectively as you can, describe significant aspects of the history, architecture, and present parish. But keep it succinct and specifically about the cathedral, not general observations about Gothic cathedral architecture or what you feel the architect meant to achieve through the composition. That may be relevant too, but it can't dominate the style of this Wikipedia entry, or any other. I edited out what I felt was inappropriate, which wasn't that much, but significant nonetheless. The current write-up on the architecture is quite good in terms of technical details and objectivity. I will add some links to the technical terms to make it more accessible.
