Self-published sources

[edit]

The quote stating the purpose of the award is from the Royal Society's website, as it should be. They set up the award, so they get to determine its purpose. The information on who it's named after is also from their website, for the same reason. The RSNZ is indeed a "self-published source", but is absolutely appropriate to use as a source for that particular information. Initially I changed the wording to make it more mealy-mouthed, from "which recognises" to "who state that it recognises", but will change it back, because the award recognises whatever the RSNZ say it does, and what they say on their own website is the best source to use. Consequently I'm removing the "improper references to self-published sources" warning, which should never have been applied. Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 03:07, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
