Taoist Fifth Force[edit]

Shouldn't the Chi of Taoist Fifth Force be contained within the first general bullet of "asian life force?" Especially since they both link to Qi? Mrcolj 16:54, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Traditional "Chinese" Medicine[edit]

Should "traditional chinese medicine" be "traditional medicine" here, or "traditional eastern medicine?" I mean, most global traditional medicines use the concept of chi, and definitely 100% of those from Asia. Mrcolj 16:54, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Chi vs. Ki vs. Qi[edit]

Chi is also the Japanese word for the concept of spirit which has developed in a different direction than the Chinese.

I removed the following text from after the second definition:

(this is incorrect. The character CHI as shown above is not in the name of Tai chi chuan. That is a differnt character with a different meaning but same sound. This is a common mistake.)

The criticism was based on a misunderstanding; the whole point of the disambig page is to catalog the different words, uses, and meanings that are all represented as "Chi" in English. Ashenai 15:39, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's also quite erroneous. The "Chi" in "Tai Chi" is actually jí in pinyin, which is pronounced very differently from the "Ch'i" or qì in pinyin. Different word, different sound, just happens to be spelled with confusing similarity in Wade-Giles. siafu 16:49, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That's just the point, though. The point of this disambiguation page is that if a layperson (one who doesn't know Pinyin) wants to know something about what the heck this "Chi" thing is, then that person can find whatever she is looking for. That person might be thinking of the "jí" in Tai Chi, or the "Ch'i" character; either way, this is the page she'll come to. For this reason, we need to have links for everything that's generally meant by "Chi", even if those things are written completely differently in Pinyin. Note that the article does not claim that the "Chi" in Tai Chi Chuan is the same as the "life-force" Chi. This article needs more work! There should be differnt Subpage/ Section for meaning for Chi, i am using the traditional way, this article shouldn't just be in bullet points about chi it suppose to have more DETAILS!

Ok, that is cool, i found out that the real article for information that suppose to be in this page, is in the "Qi" article but people don't ( japs) don't use the word Qi, it is mainly called and say Chi

Okiedokie! I've removed your definition bit and your references to Dragon Ball Z and such; they belong (possibly) in the article itself, not the disambiguation page.

This is really what gets me mad in Wikipedia! why removing everything ok you remove the meaning of chi and dbz ect thats ok.. but why removing link to QI and KI KI QI AND CHI are all the same meaning, don't you know anything?><ino 19:27, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't get mad. I didn't remove the stuff as an insult; this is just how Wikipedia works. I've had my own stuff removed, it's not a personal thing.

As to your queestion: I removed the link to Ki because it pointed to another disambiguation page. You're never supposed to have a link from one disambig page pointing to another without good reason. Wikipedia doesn't have an article called Ki; it has an article called Qi, and the Ki page just points to that article, like a signpost.

If you think the Qi article should be renamed to Ki, that's something you can discuss... but not here. You should talk about that at the talk page for Qi.

If I told you guys that I have learnt how to control my chi (energy) to such a level that I can emit chi from my body & and produce a ball of chi in my hands that everybody can see, you would think im mad! well guess what??????????????? I CAN!

Chi lost land[edit]

The bit about the lost land is at least partially fake. It also lists Friesland, a province of The Netherlands which is in no way lost, but often ridiculed.
