How were the all-star players selected? Who coached the all-stars? How were coaches selected? --NameThatWorks (talk) 21:21, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the Chicago Tribune handled most of that. The coach was a hired freelancer: I remember it was retired QB Otto Graham a couple of times. The Tribune would hype the game on its sports pages for weeks in advance. Although the other sports were staging real (i.e., non-exhibition) contests at the time, the Trib's sports headline would be something like STARS SCRIMMAGE TODAY or ALL-STARS ADD TWO LINEMEN or STARS' COACH PLEASED WITH WORKOUT. Move to "College All-Star Football Classic"?[edit]

It appears from my research that this series (if it ever had an official name) was called the "College All-Star Football Classic" rather than the "Chicago College All-Star Game". Before I re-name (i.e. move) the article, I wanted to see if anyone here has any objections. Obviously I would redirect the current name to the new name. Any thoughts? — DeeJayK (talk) 22:48, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
