revert[edit]

theres no reason to revert the external images link, and especially the citation added to his full name, and inclusion of his name, per style manual guidelinesMyheartinchile (talk) 05:46, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what is the point of having a picture of his face, at least have him playing or something--Yankees10 16:08, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the point is to have a picture of him, furthermore, you could ask that same question to ESPN couldn't you? The fact is most sports teams use pictures of their players of this nature. Do you have a picture of him playing to suggest? Also the way you placed the infobox above the external images box, ruined the layout terribly. The external imagbox is designed to be on top of the infobox. Please don't place it there again.Myheartinchile (talk) 18:26, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually infoboxes do go on top. As a suggestion - if you are going to use the external image template I suggest you consider expanding the description to state the faceshot at ESPN and give the year if nothing else. The two links might be more useful if separated and placed into the most relevant section (based on when the photo is taken, if known) The other image says at play with ____. That's unclear, play as in socializing or playing their sport or what? also linking to the other person's article would make sense and also placing that link in the most appropriate team section. Banjeboi 00:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the year is relevant, most image captions do not state dates. External links should not go in the middle of text and they would be cumbersome to insert in the middle of text anyways. Two external images boxes is like two external links sections to me. On an article about an individual who is only noted for playing football in an article that only touches on that subject its quite obvious play refers to football. But you are free to edit as you wish and try and improve the article. As for the location of the external images template, at the top alongside where an actual image would go seems to be the most useful and logical position to me, the templates line up nicely, it may be that an infobox must go on top but this template is really just an addition to the template not anything else and it is very small. Other changes to its location put it in the middle of the text and made for a horrible layout.Myheartinchile (talk) 23:52, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I actually agree with Myheartinchile it should be where it is--Yankees10 23:56, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I actually don't care that much either way but according to our manual of style the infobox does indeed go on top. The link to an external site should likely go in the external links section if you can find a better spot. I'll leave you to it but don't be surprised when the next editor comes along to fix it. Banjeboi 00:13, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can care less either, I was just saying--Yankees10 00:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
its part of the infobox the way it is. ill put up a photorequest and then if we have usable images this will be a non issue. external links go in the external links section, external images go in the external images template, and templates don't go in the external links section. perhaps the MOS could use an update as i believe it was written before this template was created and wikipedia rules also state when no rule applies or the rules just don't make sense make one up!Myheartinchile (talk) 00:45, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, not exactly. It's not a part of the infobox, at all. It's above it. External links sections can include templates and often do. The MOS is updated regularly but help is welcome I'm sure. And making rules up doesn't quite cover it. However, being WP:bold is acceptable and ignoring all rules, under certain circumstances, is also fine. In any case this article is a stub that needs lots of improvement so I'll leave those who are interested to do so. Banjeboi 01:03, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I plan on extending it once the Dolphins official website adds his bio--Yankees10 01:06, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tell me when they do, i'll help!Myheartinchile (talk) 01:14, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

sure, hopefully they will do it soon--Yankees10 00:16, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
