What about earlier bands?[edit]

There are quite some earlier (pre 2000?) Christian EDM bands out there, to name a few, MIC, Out of tune, Rapid deployment, Ultrabeat... Back in the days there were definitely more (of which I can hardly find anything online (anymore). Would it be an idea to identify and systematically list bands/DJs/MCs based on first year of appearance? Out of date?[edit]

I saw Walter Görlitz reverted some of the changes i made on this page. It seems like the wikipedia page is out of date. You have a lot of events, record labels, artist, and promoters. That you don't have on there. Being someone who is in the industry as a owner of a record label and a artist on both Apostle Records and extol records. The changes I had made make a impact on where CEDM is currently at and where its going. With Infiniti Events Throwing Music Festivals thats majority CEDM and everything in between. CEDM Is starting to get more traction than ever before and It would be nice to have that being represented. Hhype99 (talk) 10:32, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hhype99: I moved this from my talk page and I would like to explain two things. The first is that Wikipedia is not a catalogue of information, it should be put in context with explanations }referenced to independent sources. Information should not be included solely because it is true or useful. A Wikipedia article should not be a complete exposition of all possible details, but a summary of accepted knowledge regarding its subject. So merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Everything that I removed was without a reference from a reliable secondary source. Good sources are like those listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music/Sources although that is limited and restricted to sites that review albums. Newspapers discussing local coverage are probably not good, as are most blogs, community-run websites, social media forums (including Reddit). But there are many, many other very good sources.

The second thing is that you just stated that you are an artist, run a record label and it seems that you may have a hand in a promotion company. That means you have a conflict of interest on this topic and should not directly edit this article. You should, as stated the conflict of interest article I linked to, places your sources on this talk page along with whatever content you want included. I have seen some CoI editors do quite well in editing articles directly, but everything they add is sourced. On the other hand I have seen other CoI editors get blocked indefinitely for directly editing articles, particularly when they add poor quality, primary, or paid sources.
