Language & usage concerns

[edit]

The language and grammar used in the majority of this article is archaic. It leads to the conclusion This article is either a direct translation of an article originally written in French, or has been directly copied from a much older text -- or both. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.103.184.76 (talk) 15:46, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to have been written by a non-English speaker. I've located the sources all of which are correct, and rewriting and adding in-line citations. Will be finished in a day or so. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 15:55, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done for now.Truthkeeper88 (talk) 00:10, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have assessed this article as a Start class article. Please note that Mil Hist project doesn't use C class, hence as it does not quite fulfill B class criteria it is therefore a Start. Having said this, it is a very good Start class article. It just needs those last few citations and it would be a B class in my opinion. Well down Truthkeeper for the rewrite. Cheers. —… AustralianRupert (talk) 01:36, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps it's best to delete the two sentences that are lacking citations. I've read all the source material and can't find those facts. If one of the original editors returns and can cite the relevant statements then it would be fine to add them back. Thanks for having a look, and for deleting the extra bracket. One of the sources came up as a dead link (although it was live only a few days ago) so a new reference has been added, and now the entire article is cited.Truthkeeper88 (talk) 17:14, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
