Largest Council Estate in Europe[edit]

I'm afraid this claim is not substantiated by any evidence. The largest council estate in Britain was/is Becontree with a population around 100,000 (5-6 times Clifton's original population). It also pre-dates Clifton by 20 years. Secondly the term "council estate" is pretty much limited to Britain and Ireland: better generic terms are social or public housing, with the former probably preferred usage in the UK.
