Changes at St Hughs[edit]

I removed the POV word 'apparently'. Whatever opinions people might hold about healings etc, there are other indisputable and documented changes of a dramatic nature. For example the number of meetings increased and the church was packed for most of them, starting from a very low point. This is a dramatic change. Another was the sense of community that developed in what was a run-down, somewhat deprived area, also a dramatic change. These changes (and others) are documented in the book referred to in the article, 'When the Spirit Comes', and are no doubt supported by parish records, newspaper articles, and other material from the time. More POV assertions[edit]

81.109.49.87 added 'Urquhart is one of the many Charismatic leaders who promote the 'health and wealth' prosperity gospel. He has claimed many supernatural healings, none of which have been verified.'

Are either of these assertions justified? I have removed the first allegation until some basic documentary evidence can be found to suggest it might be true. As far as the second one goes, it's not only Colin Urquhart who makes this claim, so do those who appear to have been healed, and others present at the meetings. How do we know that none have been verified? The reinstated claim, that none of the healings have been verified, is a point of view which is both unverified, and unsourced. In fact it's even more sweepingly dismissive because this time it includes the statement 'as with all such claims'. If there is a source for none of the healings being verified it should be quoted, in the meantime I'm going to remove the recent addition. --Chris Jefferies 12:08, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
