Fair use rationale for Image:Stroselogo.gif[edit]

Image:Stroselogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Major Edits[edit]

Hi all, I'm a recent graduate of Saint Rose and have begun synthesizing a more in-depth (and hopefully mostly unbiased) version of this article. As was noted by 68.236.157.56 in the following section, it appears as if the Public Relations Department (and one of the sports administrators) wrote a major portion of the article before I began editing it. While it is of little surprise and quite common on Wikipedia articles for colleges (see the current "Environmental sustainability" section of the University at Albany) and other institutional articles to be strongly influenced, if not entirely written by, PR departments, it is nonetheless inappropriate if that content is biased, whether overtly or through the use of weasel words. If you have any questions about the content I have been adding, moving, removing, or rewording please contact me on this page or via my own. Thanks! THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE ADVERTISING DEPARMENT WROTE IT[edit]

There is simply too much bias here to be an fair even artical shouldnt some of the negitive things be shown? IE the parking. also they should talk about the major work on all the other buldings. or the fact we lost soo much space in the music lot last year due to the construction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.236.157.56 (talk) 15:44, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Surrounded by" a river valley and a mountain range (apparently the Hudson and Adirondacks are circular)? Yet, even though it's a mountain town it has eclectic shops and eateries? Albany is not Vail, CO! It's a city! Yeah, this is a pretty blatant (and bad) marketing pitch. Hopefully someone with some time (and not a typical college parking complaint) can rewrite this. 74.76.82.65 (talk) 02:41, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Im looking at this too. it looks like the whole artical came off of strose.edu the parking thing should be included only because its part of the student and staff culture. Every Proffessor I had gave the disclamer remember to leave early you know the parking is bad it could take a while to get a spot... Its a running joke but it should be included as part of the culture of the school ( which the article doesnt cover or the small section it tries to hit it fails miserbly.

If possable would people compile a list of things they want in here then we can put a real article up that isnt a newspaper advertisment. - Math Deparment will be almost compleatly new by Fall of 2010. - Jimmy Fallon will be returning to Strose for Graduation 2009, and be reciving an diploma. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.70.31.100 (talk) 14:29, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the previous comment, I think we can assume there are issues with the English dept... "possable" "Deparment" "compleatly" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.114.131.102 (talk) 04:02, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Parking[edit]

I think that parking is secondary to the actual function and operation to an insitution of Higher Education. The point of a short article like this is not to describe every detail of the college bu rather give a snapshot of wha the school is. And the College of Saint Rose is not parking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lifttorelease (talkcontribs) 18:06, 5 August 2008 (UTC) This is not a short advertisement article in the Times Union, This is a Encylopedia Artical covering all aspects of the college, which currently looks as if it was coppy and pasted off strose.edu. Parking is something that students deal with and is part of the student cultrue ( which is starkly absent) you cant have a well rounded article if it wont cover the good and the bad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.70.31.100 (talk) 14:23, 19 April 2009 (UTC) Really? All this hoopla about parking? It's an issue at every college. If the parking issues are going to be mentioned in this article, I would suggest mentioning in context to the large proportion of commuting students. But seriously, there are bigger issues with this article than just parking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.114.131.102 (talk) 03:59, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Graduate Programs[edit]

Nothing is written about the Graduate Programs at Saint Rose. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.109.62.50 (talk) 17:39, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 66.109.62.50, If you could add information about the Graduate programs at Saint Rose that would be superb. As I assume you know, they are a major part of Saint Rose and, indeed, one of the programs for which the College is known. Younvrknow (talk) 21:53, 22 July 2012 (UTC)Younvrknow[reply]

Needs work[edit]

The article contains a substantial amount of material sourced to the college's own website and publications. Some of this material fails WP:UNDUE, and some of it has been tagged since earlier this year. It's time for this stuff to go. 74.76.164.230 (talk) 06:04, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
