Add PicApport[edit]

I can't find a wiki page on this project yet, but PicApport fits in with this list — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crabpot8 (talkcontribs) 23:53, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

I once created a page for HTTPhotos and added it to the Desktop software but 2 years later the page has been marked for deletion because of notability. I provided some links to some reviews but in the end 5 people voted for deletion while I was the only one to vote for keep. This leaves the Desktop section with only JAlbum shareware while HTTPhotods is a freeware. Some people are better at deleting rather than creating. Unsure if the omission was intentional, but I don't see PhotoPost ( listed. - Ageekgal 09:56, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

feature list[edit]

As of july 2006, there is Name, License, OS, Platform, Languages and Thumbnails. I think that OS is irrelevant because all are web-based; Thumbnails should be detail. I thought adding features like uplad, output, and so on, could beuseful. -Marc Lacoste 10:53, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, the "thumbnails" note on 4images is effectively meaningless, given that all the featured projects offer support for thumbnails. What would be more interesting is seeing which perform thumbnail creation automatically, which cache them, etc. However, if all of them (as I suspect) use ImageMagik and cache the result, there's no reason to bother enumerating it here. As of Jan 2017, I think tagging should be given more details. Surely, having tags and using them for sorting or output selection is fine. However, it would be good to know if tags can be managed, i.e. added, changed or deleted after upload. Otherwise the upload is hammered in stone. Ppso (talk) 07:02, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Moving this page[edit]

The correct title of this article should be Comparison of photo gallery software -- Gudeldar 14:10, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Only PHP?[edit]

There aren't only PHP based engines. I know about at least on Perl base image [[1]]. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaclav Haisman (talkcontribs) 17:38, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Additionally, the "Platform" does not mention the CMS needed in some cases. Some ISPs do not accept Joomla, for instance (and for a good reason) so if it is needed it should be mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 13:12, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

There should be a definition for "photo gallery software" or a link to the not yet existing article photo gallery software. --X-Bert (talk) 23:10, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Add additional software projects[edit]

Here are software projects that aren't represented here. If anyone has free time to add these in I think it would help bring this comparison page up to date containing modern examples :

Booru software also seems to be underrepresented here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A601:642:D601:AE86:EF4F:9C9F:3D71 (talk) 08:20, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
