In the Deroit Michigan area, there are over 400 coney island restaurants all having slight differences. Therefore, comparing one coney in Massachusetts to the hundreds in Michigan would be next to impossible. 67.149.41.193 (talk) 21:12, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

There's a lot of shared information (as well as contradictory information!) in Coney Island hot dog. While these aren't quite the same topic, I think both articles might be well served by a merge. Anyone else have an opinion? -- Kaszeta 03:29, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly Oppose. A coney island hot dog can be sold at any restaurant. A coney island restaurant serves more than hot dogs. Each has their own history and are entirely severable. Jtmichcock 03:35, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Picture[edit]

The old picture of American Coney Island was all well and good, but, Lafayette and American are really only culturally significant as a pair, so, I felt that both deserved to be in the article's picture. Also, both are mentioned in the article, so, I figured a picture would be good.

As an aside, are there real American devotees? I know in the caption I said there were, and I've been told they exist, but, I've never met any. Trogdor077 03:52, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Any history/details on alternate spelling?[edit]

Is there any reliable info on the origin of the common alternate spelling "Koney"? Looking around town, it seems there are more "Koney Island" places than those who use "Coney Island". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.40.205.82 (talk) 04:18, 13 March 2009 (UTC) There are so many coney island restaurants in the Detroit area, many use "koney" to distinguish themselves from one another. Coney Island restaurants in Michigan are NOT JUST DETROIT[edit]

Coney Island restaurants in Michigan have two varieties, the watery Coney sauce in the Detroit Coneys and the drier variety in the Flint Coneys. So properly, Coney Island hot dogs in Michigan restaurants are properly unique to Michigan, not just Detroit. Steelbeard1 (talk) 02:24, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
