possible name change[edit]

a better name for this article might be Cut slope. that is the term used by highway engineers and its also less of a mouthful than the present name. The poor name of this present article may explain the paucity of incoming links. one would expect dozens (if not hundreds) of links to this key concept from an encyclopaedia of this size. Too many stub articles on the same topic[edit]

There are too many articles on the subjects "cut" and "fill" that all seem to cover the same topic. They are all small articles. I think they should be merged into one article with appropriate redirects.

Cut and fill is 3 KB (508 words)
Cut (earthmoving) is 2 KB (358 words)
Cutting (transportation) is 1 KB (212 words)
Embankment (transportation) is 1 KB (154 words)
Fill dirt is 2 KB (384 words)
