I agree with the first comment, the arrow pointing from the H to the H2O should point in the opposite direction, curved arrows show the movement of electrons- from nucleophile to electrophile. If this is not corrected soon, I will fix it myself. Dru007 16:49, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Cyclohexene/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

The mechanism contains an error. In the second line, an arrow is pointing the wrong way. I also don't like the C+ in the same structure - I'd rather it were a CH+. Given that this is indeed a very common undergraduate experiment, and students often turn to wikipedia for answers, the figure should probably be corrected. If my students gave me the mechanism as shown I would mark it wrong. If I had more time to figure out how to edit here at Wikipedia, I'd do it myself. (But I don't so I will just whine about it and see if anyone else is willing to deal with it.)
