Birth Place[edit]

This page used to say that he was born in Malmo. How do you know that he was born in Stockholm? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.202.94.89 (talk) 11:07, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All evidence would point to him being from Malmo; he is a Malmo FF supporter, he is of Serbian heritage and Malmo has a large Serbian community, and most sites say he was born in Malmo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.202.94.89 (talk) 11:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is a local celebrity in Håbo, where he was born and raised. Therefore Stockholm would seem more correct as birthplace. The fact that he played in Malmö doesn't change that. Is C.Ronaldo born in Manchester? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.227.56.205 (talk) 21:45, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed this to Stockholm, however he was apparently born in Spånga, not Håbo. 85.228.208.58 (talk) 20:19, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name form[edit]

I recall a previous discussion regarding tennis players and how to present their names regarding diacritics. Although I favour them, I detect a possible error of some kind in the title of this page. To my knowledge, Swedish as a language has always been generous in accepting foreign diacritics across its literary world. However, for his parents to have included them when naming him then they'd almost certainly have spelt his first name Danijel (with a j). The Serbian translation before I ammended it gave just the Cyrillic form and presented it in a way that it included the /j/. But if his name really is written as Daniel, then there is no practice in Serbian preventing this usage, and so his name could easily be presented as /Даниел/ (if anyone can read Cyrillic). I just don't know how best to display this. Evlekis (talk) 12:46, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
