Untitled[edit]

Does anyone have any information on the audio and video that were recorded at David's RFH gig?

-- Why is David Axelrod versatile? It doesn't say, and for someone who's unfamiliar with his work it's not enough to say that he uses different drum styles to prove this statement. -Rich

Fair use rationale for Image:DavidAxelrod.jpg[edit]

Image:DavidAxelrod.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Age[edit]

According to the notes in "THE EDGE" album/CD, he was born in 1933, which makes sense in that he produced his first album in 1956 (age 23 instead of 20). Further, if he had moved to NY in the early 50's, he would have been barely into his teens. He might say he was born in 1936 to appear younger, so a stronger source for a birth date is needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.105.99.59 (talk) 02:33, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!
1933 is also substantiated by the man himself in his Big Daddy interview, reprinted in Wax Poetics:
... Okay, “Axe…” You were born in South Central Los Angeles.
1933. I grew up there. Knew it like the back of my hand and still do.
The Axe: Part 1 of Big Daddy's David Axelrod interview, Wax Poetics, by Eothen Alapatt, November 1, 2005, originally 1999/2000, Big Daddy
...so I've changed it (with reference) to 1933 in this edit.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────We should note this edit, giving 1931, which I believe is likely to have been made in good faith. It matches this source, and various previous versions of this article. It also matches data in the California Birth Index, which I believe is a publicly available source (or can be accessed via Ancestry.com for those with subscriptions). One option to help resolve the inconsistency between sources would be to include a footnote, simply stating that sources about his year of birth differ. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:08, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
