Conflict of Interest[edit]

In the interest of full disclosure, I am the Global Communications Manager at DeVry Inc. Every edit I make I try to be fair and balanced (especially writing as a former journalist). I will be making edits to this page today and tomorrow to update 1) DVI's acquisition of the American University of the Caribbean and 2) the infobox with FY2011 revenue, income, assets, etc. after the fiscal year end earnings call scheduled for 8/11/11 330pm CST.Jd devry (talk) 20:56, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't do that. With your COI, you should suggest improvements to this article on this talk page, not edit it yourself. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:59, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Orange Mike, I am happy to provide you the content from our fact sheet and delegate the updating to you, as I have other projects I could be working on. But please be aware I have given full disclosure about who I am and am very aware conflicts of interest. I do not know who you are see you have deleted all information about all of DeVry's school holdings so there is virtually no information on this page. Why?Jd devry (talk) 21:06, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We need information from reliable sources in order to update the article. As to the other content: it was removed, as the "article" was becoming more like a catalog of your corporate offerings, and the wording was rather promotional. An article in Wikipedia should be more dispassionate and matter-of-fact, and less like a favorable profile in Barron's. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:16, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And this is your singular opinion, which I respect, but again, keeping in the good faith and intention of Wikipedia, I am not sure your edits are without bias... The article content had been the same since June, until your substantial deletions. My edits of the page in June were done after thoroughly reviewing other education providers, but public and private. Would you like examples?Jd devry (talk) 21:21, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We can't take your original research. Also, OrangeMike is an administrator of Wikipedia, which really makes me cast doubt on your accusation of him having bias. This actually is not his opinion, but guidelines in the entire Wikipedia project. I added a reliable source for you, but I need to spend a little more time and find 3rd-party sources.Jasper Deng (talk) 16:44, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please check recent SEC filings for information on each of DeVry's holdings and to second-hand cite any information on the page. As it appears now, all information is correct and I have no reason to edit it. Please remove the headers. Thank youJd devry (talk) 16:48, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Which headers?Jasper Deng (talk) 16:50, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the Global Communications Manager at DeVry Inc. wants us to remove the tag notifying readers that an editor with a conflict of interest has been heavily editing the article. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:37, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OrnageMike, the edits I made were not COI and I encourage you to review them. In fact, the recent edits you made actually make the listing for DeVry Inc. incomplete and inaccurate. At the least you would want to mention the new acquisitions by the company (ATC International in May 2011 and American University of the Caribbean in August 2011) - two items you deleted as part of your mass deletion of our site. Also, by only providing a listing for DeVry Brasil leads to a misleading wiki entry, as DeVry Inc. has 10 holdings, not just one. Please comment, or share so I can ensure you are not a competitor making edits to our company page. Thank you.Jd devry (talk) 21:16, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I really doubt OrangeMike has a conflict of interest. Your username, however, gives yours away, as does "you are not a competitor making edits to our company page". OrangeMike and you both must adhere to our neutral point of view policy. Also, the article is not yours, nor your company's. If you're going to call his edits inaccurate and incomplete, would you please cite reliable sources for what he's missing?Jasper Deng (talk) 16:28, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge into DeVry University?[edit]

Should these be separate articles or is it to difficult to tell exactly where the boundaries between the organizations are? If they remain separate, the timeline from DeVry University#History should be moved here and expanded for recent acquisitions. Vagary (talk) 19:22, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems clear to me that all of this should be in a single article, until and unless the main article gets too large (which is not a problem at present). --Orange Mike | Talk 19:52, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update of content needed throughout - basic information incorrect[edit]

I am disclosing that I am a global communications manager for Adtalem Global Education and I am suggesting some factual changes. The logo on the page is out of date. The opening summary about Adtalem includes incorrect company names or names that are out of date. The former names are also consistently incorrect listed under Subsidiaries and History (i.e., DeVry Brasil is Adtalem Educacional do Brasil, Chamberlin College of Nursing is Chamberlain University, missing Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, etc.) Please reference the biolerplate on our latest news release [1] for a complete list of our companies and for the most up-to-date logo - also attached here for use.[File:Adtalem logo RGB.jpg|thumb|Adtalem Global Education]

We are also no longer based in Downers Grove, Ill., but now in Chicago, Ill., since December 2017[2]

The DeVry Education Group subsidiaries subhead should be adjusted to say Adtalem Global Education subsidiaries, and the company names should be updated to reflect what is listed in our boilerplate [3].Cindy Comm Mgr (talk) 14:24, 20 April 2018 (UTC) -- adding this now per Help Desk instruction by @Arch dude: — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cindy Comm Mgr (talkcontribs) 15:59, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

COI edit requests must include complete and specific descriptions of the request, that is, specify what text should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it, making sure to use the correct Wiki Markup and including all references placed using the <ref> citation or other such reference template. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "Please change X to Y" If you require additional assistance making these changes, please let me or another editor know by describing here on the talk page in a reply message which type of assistance is needed. Or you may make a request at the COI noticeboard.  spintendo  00:12, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
