The lead section of this article is very brief - especially in comparison with the rest of the article. The lead section also contains value statements and unsourced opinions. The structure of this article is non-existent. There are no headers, sub-headers, or table of contents. There is no clear demonstration of what information this article possesses or is supposed to possess. The balance of the article is very skewed in material. Currently the article only discusses history of Native American farming in deserts, with three sentences dedicated to desert farming after the 15th century. It is also poorly sourced with only one source for five paragraphs on the history of Native American desert farming.

In summary, this article needs: a more clear and neutral lead section, a table of contents, headers/subheaders, more content on present-day desert farming, and sources for historical desert farming (as well as some miscellaneous grammatical correction).
