Panned by critics[edit]

I'd like to see in the article an opposing opinion of a critic that did not hate this movie with a passion; Dare I suggest some commentary in the article of a critic that might have liked this movie, if such a critic is out there somewhere. The comment in the article that it is an "old fashioned police chase" is quite inaccurate. Rather its an intricate foot chase of cop against criminal, each matching wits. Its similar to "Diehard" with Keaton in a role similar to Bruce Willis's "John McCain" character. The only difference is the added contrivance of the cop having a personal stake in whether the criminal gets caught or escapes. As for the exxagerated medical aspect of the story, I really refuse to believe theres not a lot of realism to that plot device. The kid needs bone marrow; The inmate has matching bone marrow. Not a huge stretch. Perhaps the stretch is that such a heinous killer is the only match. Michael Keaton is convincing here as such a ruthless villian, considering he's always the nice guy. Considering he's such a sick, vile individual in this movie, dare I suggest that this portions of this script might have been better used in a sequel to "Silence of the Lambs."
