misnomer[edit]

Actually, the consumption of food prepares the body , by triggering insulin production, for the onslaught of sugar in digestif's.

Also the presence of food on the tongue and in the stomach prevents reactions to the alcohol and irritant flavours in the drink. So really consuming food aids the consumption of digestifs and digestifs do not add the digestion of the meal. So its really a misnome complete misnomer.. or joke.. alcohol is also jokingly called medicinal... its just a carry on of the same.
