Malaysia entry[edit]

Can anyone confirm the entry made about Malaysia? I'm skeptical as there is no references (I added the fact tag), and it just seems highly unlikely as the government channels are using DVB-T and Astro uses DVB-S. Furthermore, I have acquired a dual-mode T-DMB/DMB-TH receiver from China (I have a relative working in China and she cluelessly brought it back as a gift, thinking it would work here) and it failed to pick up any signal at all, even in the Kuala Lumpur area. European technology?[edit]

Why do you say that DMB is an European technology? I mean, the standardization organization is EU-based, but it has been wholly developped in South Korea, and as such, if we want to provide a nationality for it, we should write it to be a Korean technology. --Cantalamessa (talk) 21:22, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The technology is not used in the eu, except in Norway where the mobile variant is used. I vote we change it to 'Korean technology' or remove nationality all together.

DMB in automobiles[edit]

Disputed[edit]

The article claims that DMB should NOT be confused with DAB. It's scandalously inaccurate. Actually DMB is an extension DAB or part of the same family of standards. Quoting exactly from World DMB site.

"Both for DMB and DAB+ the technical basis remains to be DAB. In other words, the physical layer is still the same, just new applications, new transport protocols and a second error control coding layer was added. I agree. Good observation.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting → Digital multimedia broadcasting – Per WP:MOSCAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE, this is a generic, common term, not a propriety or commercial term, so the article title should be downcased. It does not appear to be a protocol, in the technical sense. In addition, WP:MOSCAPS says that a compound item should not be upcased just because it is abbreviated with caps.

An Ngram search in books shows that about a third of usage is lowercase; but the two-thirds counted as uppercase includes book, chapter, and section titles that would be in title case in most house styles. Wikipedia, like CMOS and Oxford, prefers lowercase where there's a choice. Tony (talk) 08:27, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
