Debate round non IP channels, people![edit]

I have edited the article to say that there is debate round non IP channels for digital marketing, such as TV and radio - which do not suggest digital marketing in any way. Up for discussion - but it's a dubious thing to say. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hball666 (talkcontribs) 17:31, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

How is this different from Internet Marketing? I would suggest a merge. --69.147.104.70 (talk) 16:50, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Internet marketing is a subset of digital marketing; but as written, this article is little more that a collection of original research composing a series of definitions. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:03, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

I would NOT merge them. In fact ,there is a fair amount of confusion. Contrary to the opening line of this article, digital marketing is not just internet connected devices. For instance, if I use text messaging as part of my marketing, that is digital, but doesn't require the internet. There is further confusion because the Web is a subset of the Internet. Digital covers all marketing concerned with digital communications, such as the Internet, web, phone, and digital billboards. I would move to strike the entire section on pull versus push. --Rdquay (talk) 15:14, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

I would NOT merge them, too. Digital (lat. for digit) means more than Internet. Thru the digital support for Marketing (processes, activities and media) you can communicate corporate messages (or other organizations) and product details (or other details) via electronically devices. You can use Marketing Management Support Systems to do marketing automatically and individually. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rolf Dreier (talkcontribs) 14:13, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Re: Multichannel communication: appreciate broader work to be done on this page but for me Multichannel Communication is essentially the same as Multichannel marketing I think this page should reference the importance of a multichannel approach and then link to the MC marketing page, itself could do with expanding Garymonk (talk) 19:40, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Interwiki conflict[edit]

d:Wikidata:Interwiki_conflicts/Unresolved/2014#.28no_label.29_.28Q3008173.29.2FDigital_marketing_.28Q1323528.29... I think we need some perspective on the whole topic.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:12, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Article overlap[edit]

Do we really need both Online advertising and Digital marketing? There's a lot of overlap. Is there a better way to split up the subject? John Nagle (talk) 08:00, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

This article appears to only address the Online advertising part of Digital marketing, while incorrectly used interchangeably in the vernacular, Marketing, including Digital marketing encompasses more than Advertising. Market research, the process of gathering information about customers and target customers as well as Product management and Product strategy are important components to consider when discussing Marketing and Digital marketing.
