Hi There, I would like to edit this page, as it needs edits and citations but it is protected. What do I need to do? It seems as if the past edit inquiries were met with nothing positive... Thanks --LilMew88 (talk) 01:11, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Edits Made[edit]

Hi all, please see my initial edits, then the fix chain. I personally think that the language is not too technical, but would love your thoughts and am happy to make the next round of edits less refined, if that is what is desired by the community. Also, not sure why an article from LinkedIn Pulse, by a well renowned teacher, speaker and author would be pulled out and cited as not being credible? Can anyone provide insight here? Thanks! LilMew88 (talk) 16:20, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

What is a "fix chain", and what does "less refined" mean in this context? As pointed out at the Teahouse, we have to avoid jargon, phrases like "enhancing bottom line results" or "evolving brand narratives" which have zero meaning in the real world, and phrasing such as "nurturing interaction between brands and consumers" or "engaging consumers in the conversation" which is insidious and rather misleading. The LinkedIn source may or may not be appropriate; it is currently in the article. It speaks only to an audience of marketers, but that's not necessarily a problem as long as it does support the information. --bonadea contributions talk 21:32, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Partly done: Line 5 is being left as is. Email and Email direct are the same thing and cause undue weight on the article.
  1. 3 is being declined. Hubspot is user edited and the numbers can be changed by someone or something. Galendalia Talk to me CVU Graduate 16:08, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

==History== The development of digital marketing is inseparable from technology development. One of the critical points in the start of was in 1971, where Ray Tomlinson sent the very first email and his technology set the platform to allow people to send and receive files through different machines.[1] However, the more recognisable period as being the start of Digital Marketing is 1990 as this was where the Archie search engine was created as an index for FTP sites. In the 1980s, the storage capacity of computer was already big enough to store huge volumes of customer information. Companies started choosing online techniques, such as database marketing, rather than limited list broker.[2] These kinds of databases allowed companies to track customers' information more effectively, thus transforming the relationship between buyer and seller. However, the manual process was not as efficient. Seohuptech (talk) 13:39, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
