Talk:Distributed objects

It would make sense to have an generic article on distributed objects (Microsoft DCOM, Java RMI, CORBA etc.), but that's a substantial article to write. Does someone intend to take that on? Is the original author intending to fill in this stub?

There's something to be said for addressing this in Wikipedia. DCOM, RMI, and CORBA all do roughly the same thing: create objects on a remote machine and then talk to them. Yet there's no common term for this. Is "Distributed objects" the name to use to address this? --Nagle 06:49, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
