Dixie Carter Carter[edit]

According to her IMDb biography, Carter is her birth name, and it's just coincidence that her first husband had the same last name. Just in case anyone else was curious. --Angr/tɔk tə mi 22:19, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

It was in the article previously, but it was somehow deleted. Mike H. That's hot 06:13, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Desperate Housewives[edit]

She's now playing Orson's mother and will be featured in several episodes. I'm not sure how long the role will last, but she's supposed to be crucial to Orson's bad past. Is this not Wikipedia worthy? It seems like she's been on a hiatus from television for a while until now.2003graduate

Info box photo[edit]

I returned the solo shot of Dixie Carter to the info box. It doesn't seem appropriate for shot of the entire Designing Women cast to appear in info box for Dixie's solo article. I placed the DW cast shot down further in the article, where it would correspond with the section discussing her DW years. --Markt3 23:22, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Halbert Carter Obit[edit]

I don't know if there's a place for it in the article, but Mrs. Carter-Holbrook's father died the other day. His obituary is very interesting. H. L. Carter was a fine fellow.

Cabaret Singer[edit]

She has had a "hobby career" as a cabaret singer and a respected one. Suggest something more about that be put in the article.

Bloodworth-Thomsons[edit]

Suggest the mention of the on-air toast to Clinton be appropriately tied to the fact that the Bloodworth-Thomson were Clinton supporters from Little Rock and sometimes White House guests. Don't think this would be POV, just relevance.

Emmy Award?[edit]

I can't find information of her ever winning an Emmy Award. She was nominated this past year for her Desperate Housewives role...but I don't think she ever won before. Small5th 00:09, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Dixie Carter passes at age 70[edit]

Figure there'll be more info soon. Dixie Carter passes away at age 70. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebrockway (talkcontribs) 02:10, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Ebrockway (talk) 02:13, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Why would you even post this in discussion? This is a pointless topic given that the Wikimunity stays on top of these things and the page was updated many times the day of her death. Next time instead of wasting everyone's time by posting this in discussion, go to the actual page and update it. Don't be so foolish.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.13.76.17 (talkcontribs)

Gay support[edit]

I don't agree with the wording of this statement: "She was, however, a strong supporter of the gay community." Being a Republican and being a supporter of gay rights are not mutually exclusive. I feel the "however" should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.78.238.139 (talk) 11:21, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

I also agree with that. Not every Republican is automatically a non-supporter of gay issues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nahodilb (talkcontribs) 21:06, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Inconsistent Dates[edit]

AT the top it states she passed on the 10th, yet at the bottom it says the 11th. Which one is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LinoPop (talkcontribs) 14:48, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
