There should really be some coverage of the origin of the term "dogpatch". SaltyBoatr (talk) 14:56, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

My understanding is that it used to have a bunch of meatpacking plants in the 19th century, and feral dogs were attracted to the offal. Don’t have a source handy though. El Mariachi (talk) 10:48, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
