Birthplace/Childhood[edit]

Louisville KY may technically be Doug's birthplace (no verifiable source), but he lived in Henryville, IN for the majority of his childhood/teenagerdom (we went to the same high school). [1]

Am considering editing the article to reflect this... comments?

Noticed his stated birthday of May 12 1977... this is incorrect. He is at least two years older than me, maybe more. I will try to find his correct birthdate and place of birth.

I put his correct date of birth from geweck.net but I forgot to sign in. Doug Basham is not 36, he's 30. Imdb are just totally incorrect for wrestlers sometimes.

Ummm... he IS 36. I know. We were in school together. Guess I'm gonna have to break out the yearbook and scan it. There is NO WAY he could be three years younger than me if he graduated BEFORE me.

Real Name[edit]

Found out that Doug is his middle name... would it be okay to list his full given name? Also, what about as scan of his high school yearbook picture?

His birthday is may 12, 1977, not 1971. It's 77 everywhere I read, Gerweck, Extreme Warfare Battleground, or answers.com. He doesn't have 35 years old.

Keep in mind that answers.com (as well as many other websites) are nothing but a blatant copy of Wikipedia... so sourcing from there is circular logic. It's listed as 1971 at imdb.com. And yes... he IS 35. I know... I have the 1990 Henryville High School yearbook sitting right in front of me, and he is a senior in it. I can scan it if you'd like :-)

"Real name" removed[edit]

I have removed the link to Bashams real name. A quick Google search for exact matches found only 4 websites with a match to anyone named "Lyle Basham". Whether or not it was true, it did not meet our Verifiability policy. Discussion forums where random chatter starts is not a proper place to cite or encyclopedia. — Moe Epsilon 20:23 September 14 '06

A citation to the yearbook should qualify, though. Not everything can be found through Google, nor are on-line sources required by WP:V. As long as copies of the yearbook are available to the general public somehow (i.e. through the school or other regional archives), I would think the citation is adequate. Doug Basham is a Licensed Massage Therapist - His real name is Lyle.
