History missing[edit]

This page gives quite a misleading picture of the origins of the campaign. Dry January ("tipaton tammikuu", lit. "January without a drop") was introduced in Finland already in 1942 and has been more or less continuously observed ever since. The equivalent page in Finnish cites sources claiming that a quarter of Finns observed Dry January already in 2009. 84.248.99.224 (talk) 11:04, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Dry January" is the name of the specific campaign described in the article, which, apparently, was launched in 2013. If the Finnish observance was known to the organizers of Dry January and served as motivation for them and there are reliable sources that say so, it wouldn't hurt to mention that in the article, but that doesn't alter the history of Dry January.
