New Ministerial Position

[edit]

No mention of Vaizey's new ministerial positions as "joint business and culture minister" he has also been appointed to oversee the roll out of super-fast broadband: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/10131375.stm Angryafghan (talk) 17:25, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Majority

[edit]

I was looking at Ed Vaizey's majority on the infobox and I don't think it's from the 2015 General Election; should the "Majority" box show an MP's current majority, or the majority they were originally elected with? gbrading (ταlκ) 15:32, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

8p expense claim

[edit]

While the section on Parliamentary expenses scandal of 2009 is surely as relevant as it is to any of the many MPs about whom we list loads of trivia like this, I think the 8p one is just silly to include. I literally have no idea why it happened other than to say I assume that staff were asked to keep a log of all their driving and then add it up and submit it as a claim. But the most important thing is that a claim for £0.08 (or £0.16 in the other example we mention) is not a matter of encyclopedic interest - there was not even a tiny suggestion of wrongdoing.

(Quite separately, I would argue that many of them need to be cleaned up as in most cases where there were no criminal charges or parliamentary reprimands it strikes me as too trivial for a persons biography).

I am not making any edits myself since I know Lord Vaisey quite well dating back to when he was the DCMS Minister here in the UK.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 16:35, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removed as trivia. It really is a non-story and he wasn’t even driving. KJP1 (talk) 10:54, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
