Well? Which is it, 1991 or 1992? Ikkyu2 05:02, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know if Edie Brickell is Jewish?

I don't know, but from what I understand she's one of the most kick ass women on the planet. Choke me before I get too deep. Cowicide 13:12, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She is not Jewish Pete.k 22:01, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If she is married to Paul Simon you wouldn't know it based on her and Steve Martin on the Fallon show tonight (2/29/2016). They may have a new play between them but it looks like more than a manuscript! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.75.239.108 (talk) 05:27, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Meeting Paul Simon[edit]

I've found some conflicting information about Brickell first meeting Paul Simon. The article says they met during a taping of Saturday Night Live while Brickell performed the song "What I Am" with the New Bohemians. The source cited is from CNN, so it seems credible, but I think it might be wrong. The New Bohemians made two appearances on Saturday Night Live-- November 5, 1988 and December 8, 1990-- but they only performed "What I Am" on the 1988 show. As far as I know Paul Simon did not appear on that show, but he did make a cameo on the 1990 show. I'm not changing the article because CNN seems like a good source, but if anyone finds another source go ahead and change the article. --Ddawn23 10:30, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm no SNL aficionado, but if Google searches alone are the barometer, then there seems to be a problem with 1992 date. As far I've seen, 1988, 1990, and 1994 are the only times she's showing to have appeared with the New Bohemians. I can't imagine she was doing "What I Am" four years after it was a hit, in 1992 anyways. What's more is IMDB has no listing of her on SNL in 1992, but is readily linking a 1990 episode, which seems much more likely. In light of this I'm to change the date to 1990. If someone finds some conclusive evidence showing otherwise, feel free to link the source reference and change the date. B.Soto 00:28, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== Birth date == she was blessed years later after her birth to sing w/ jerry g. and the dead in 93 a few times

i checked a couple of the sources, and the first one listed her birth date. it was a month off from what was on this page. i debated, but that source seemed legit, so i changed the birth date here. making a note on the Talk page, and i noted it for the edit.Colbey84 (talk) 10:27, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Visited the photo file, and read that it was been posted by the owner with permission for free usage. I do not see the reason for deletion of the file, and disagree that the reason for deletion is at the file description page linked above. Please provide a rationale for deletion, or change the file from speedy deletion to contested deletion. Mburrell (talk) 00:20, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the photo was deleted without discussion, after a claim of copyright violation. I had visited the photo site before it was gone, and it had the owner claiming to give the photo full permission to be used, so it failed to show copyright violation unless the deleter knew the editor was falsely claiming to be the owner. No discussion was done, no proper justification was given except one editor felt one way, and just like that, the photo is gone, maybe justly, maybe not. User:Moheen Reeyad failed to discuss the issue, and failed to show how he knew it was a copyright violation. Speedy deletion should be done when there is no dispute. Lets go with DR. ~Moheen (keep talking) 17:06, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Something of a non-answer. Someone posted a DR, an editor acted on it, and ignored the legal permissions that were listed on the image page after the initial DR request. As long as there was a DR, it apparently did not matter what permissions were granted later. Mburrell (talk) 18:34, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
