the ".com[edit]

"For Ancient Greece try these sponsored results:"

That website is clearly advertising and I doubt it has anything to do with the subject of the article. I wasn't able to find anything related. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 20:38, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's advertising, actually, it just seems to be a placeholder snapped up at the .com name. The .gr site is horribly designed (and I don't read Greek), so it's difficult to navigate, but I can at least figure out which one looks like a organizational website and which is domain parking. -- nae'blis 05:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, and I wonder why Ellinas2007 can't simply wait until the .com site goes up, and then add it to the links list instead of repeatedly trying to cross out the old link.
Also, Ellinas2007 seems to be a single-purpose account, which makes his edits even fishier. Bi 19:24, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, now there's also this MyAsmodeus guy. :| I've sent this to WP:SSP. Bi 15:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note: the page at "...gr" currently says that the site was taken down on 22 Jan because they suspected it had been hacked by attackers. I'd conjecture the current SPA attacks by User:Ellinas2007 and User:MyAsmodeus are either by members of the organisation who are preparing for a domain move to the "...com", or by the attackers. I'm going to block MyAsmodeus indef as an obvious sockpuppet, and Ellinas for linkspamming or until he explains what he's up to. I can also sprotect the article. Oops. Thanks. Bi 18:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, you didn't miss much, believe me. Fut.Perf. 22:59, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ellinas2007 and MyAsmodeus are now gone, but now there's a new user called Klauskleine who still insists on putting the .com link -- even though it still doesn't work (while the .gr site looks like it's back up now). Duh. Bi 19:21, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm putting this up for RfC. Bi 04:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ΕΛΛΗΝ.Α.Ι.Σ. = ?!?[edit]

Just curious: so what's the full Greek name of this organization? Bi 17:13, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coming from RFC[edit]

The link to the .com isn't related to this article at all and is therefore out of the question. The .gr link is in another language though this meets the exceptions listed [[1]]. I'm going to add a "greek" template beside the link to notify readers that it is in greek.Wikidudeman (talk) 04:47, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

September 2008 Acropolis protest[edit]

Ellinais is in the news again, this time for holding a prayer service on the Acropolis to protest, among other things, the new Acropolis museum.

Time to update the article. - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 23:01, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what the purpose of the last section is, aside from informing the reader that the modern Olympics have little if any connection with the ancient Olympic games, and that an unrelated group reenacts a skewed version of the opening ritual at the site today- and quite poorly at that. These "facts" are wholly unrelated to each other, and have nothing to do with the article except that the temple is located in the area where the re-enactment takes place. It seems to be a holdover from a banned user's winded explanation of Greek polytheistic religion in general, which doesn't really have a place in this article (at least what I could tell from the diffs I checked)... I can't think of a reason to keep this in the article, to be honest, so I'm removing it. If there are any objections, let me know. Kaelus (talk) 04:47, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
