Talk:End user

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is called "End-user". The primary term is the noun phrase; "end-user" is the derived adjective. The end user of software runs the program; the supplier may provide end-user support (or "end user support"). Pol098 (talk) 16:54, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Why is the title hyphenated (end-user) but each instance of the term "end user" in the article has no hyphenation? --Tomjohnson1492 (talk) 05:41, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Merge with Consumer?[edit]

Oppose. I think that the concept of end user differs significantly from consumer, though they may be the same person in many (not all) cases. I won't go into long arguments; there seems to be very little interest in this discussion. Pol098 (talk) 16:47, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Agreed. "Consumer" is someone who buys products for themselves or their relatives; while an end-user of a product may be a employee at a company, far removed from the one doing the purchase. I've removed the tags since nobody has argued for the merge since february. Diego (talk) 18:25, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
