What is this article about?[edit]

I've attempted to write a lead section for this article in line with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section. It is exceedingly difficult to describe the topic and summarize the article, however, since it is not at all clear what topic the article creator and contributors intended to cover. Is this meant to be about an ethnic/national group (English people), as the title suggests? If so, their experience in Nicaragua may not be a notable topic; at least, its notability is not yet verified.

Alternately is the article about the history of the Mosquito Coast, as the body suggests? If it's the latter, the Mosquito Coast article already includes sections on "British contact and recognition of the Mosquito Kingdom" and "Renewed British presence". I have no specialist knowledge of the history of this place, but that article appears to do a more thorough job than this one. The best solution might be to merge this article into that one.
