Merge and revise page[edit]

Hi, I just moved the content of Enrico Caruso original recordings discography here and redirected that page to this one. I also updated the merge tag on Enrico Caruso compact disc discography to connect here as well. My hope is to stimulate the creation of a proper discography of Caruso's many records made from 1902-1920. And also to eventually remove the generally confusing and redundant info on the cd page and make redirect to a real discography here. Please feel free to delve in if you have the time and energy. I will try to do so also as time permits. Caruso is such a major figure, his large discography needs to be made available here in a proper format with reliable sources and as much factual data as possible. I merged the lists of original recording data to this page today and left the CD compilation information on the other page mentioned above. No information was deleted. It's just a start, but a good one. Now, for 1907 to 1920... Cheers, Markhh (talk) 21:03, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merge of further material (work done by Markhh was great), on the grounds that it seems reasonable to keep the contemporary/original recordings separate from the modern compilations; however, the pages should also certainly be more clearly linked, perhaps with a hatnote describing the purpose of each page. Using a Template:about to link the page and define their scope would also be helpful. The title Enrico Caruso compact disc discography might be more appropriately titled Enrico Caruso modern compilations, as the focus is more on the compilation than the medium on which that compilation is stored.
