Heat engines are "cyclic machines"?[edit]

Who says heat engines are cyclic machines? Never heard of turbines or rockets? There is absolutely nothing that requires a heat engine to be cyclic. --Damorbel (talk) 10:04, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

"at which the heat flow \dot Q enters the system"[edit]

What does "at which the heat flow \dot Q enters the system" mean? What is the 'temperature' and what precisely is flowing? Are we dealing with mass transfer? --Damorbel (talk) 10:30, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

It means the heat transfer rate (change in energy divided by the time elapsed) occurs at the said temperature. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 22:31, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
