Update of the page status[edit]

I happened across this page when going through the list of languages on Wiktionary, and found that every link was dead and that there were gross inaccuracies and an overall lack of thoroughness and detail in the page. I am fairly well-versed on the subject of Fang, as I once researched it in my youth out of sheer curiosity. I felt that it was only right to add in what knowledge I had, as well as setting the record straight and pruning the dead links. Diccionario español-fang/fang-español; phrase list[edit]

I just translated a bit of the Spanish WP: Idioma fang page onto the English one. However, I wasn't able to bring over the Phrase list on that page because it has a different orthographic standard (which I wasn't able to verify, but it looks like a Spanish Wikipedian took it on themselves to make their own orthography for it?).

I wish I had access to Bibang Oyee's Diccionario español-fang/fang-español; my knowledge of Fang thus far comes from the other Bibang Oyee (1990) book, Curso de lengua fang (which I have an awfully scanned copy of, making some pages unreadable) and what I've read in relation to Equatoguinean Spanish. I'm not sure where the current list on the English WP came from, and I'm not sure where that orthography came from either. For now, I left it be (besides changing the formatting into a table) and didn't add the additional phrases from Spanish WP. I would love to get my hands on the Dic. esp-fang/fang-esp to see the tones and other orthographic rules and update that section. --Sj122390 (talk) 06:18, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I see you have been having trouble fixing the orthography section. Native Fang speakers have adapted their language to the Latin alphabet, with French accents (rarely Portuguese in São Tome and Principe). This excludes the cedilla from French and tilde from Portuguese.
