Fez Wearing Fez?[edit]

The last sentence in 'Origins' says "Another flashback also shows Fez wearing an actual Fez." That doesn't make much sense to me.--KnowledgeBringsFear 20:41, 19 August 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by KnowledgeBringsFear (talkcontribs)

Birthdate[edit]

If I am not mistaken, on the 12 January 2006 episode of That '70s Show, Fez said that his birthdate was August 2nd (I remember August, however, I am 75% certain that he said 2). Therefore, this would mean that Fez was born August 2nd, 1959. Christophe T. Stevenson 14 January 2006.

I though he said August 22nd. I might be wrong though. It could be 2nd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:38, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

There are eitherways two different birthdays of fez on his page, "August 4, 1960" and "August 4, 1959" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.35.146.108 (talk) 18:49, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

His birthday is on 4th of August 1960 (as he is described as being 19 years old in Season 8 "Good Company"). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.208.3.73 (talk) 01:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

There's no doubt that his birthday is August 4 but the year is unclear. He says that his birthday is "August fourth" in "Good Company", which is set in 1979, but since we don't know whether the episode occurs before or after August 4, 1979 his birth year can't be specifically stated. It's obviously 1959 or 1960 but sources need to directly support claims. Cobbling multiple clues together to determine that it's one or the other is WP:SYNTH. The citation for the birthdate is:

Alex Lindsay[edit]

Why would his name be Alex Lindsay? In the episode where he says his name, it is clearly a long name and Hyde says, "We'll never be able to pronounce that."

  • Yeah, where did those two rumored names even come from? Also his best friend part is now out of date, as he was seen in the series finale. --Gimpy 21:26, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

No, he was seen in the episode before the series finale. Good episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:29, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Right-handed[edit]

It says he's probably right-handed because he masturbates with his right hand, but I think right-handed men tend to masturbate with their left hand. That's certainly the steretype. Jeremy Peter Green 23:38, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

What? I can't understand you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:37, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry but i agree with the comment above. Explain. I've definately never heard the stereotype that right-handed men masturbate with their left hands. Terminus777 (talk) 05:34, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Origins[edit]

"If this is so, then this is a nod to the fact that Valderrama was born in the U.S. and then immigrated to another country as a young boy." and other nonsense in the Origins section. It's just a gag, there's no evidence that any of the gags about the character are "nods" to anything about the actor. It's ridiculous. "Nods" are inside jokes, and outside references to actors or producers or history or people. This show has billions of nods to many of its actors. For example, when Kurtwood Smith (Red) said that he was sick of saying lines that were demeaning to Topher Grace, the writers wrote the episode where he's drunk and says "I love you" to Eric..

Stereotype[edit]

I am surprised fez is not a complete stereotype. (anonymous)

Qualities[edit]

I came to the page wishing to know his qualities. I can't really tell. Please add a small bit in a new section? Thanks,X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 04:40, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Messy[edit]

This article had everything bunched together making it tedious to read (especially at 1.57am!).

Fes or Fez[edit]

Remembering from the first couple episodes, Kelso was the one who gave him the name but the name stood for Foriegn Exchange Student, so shouldnt it be Fes?

They pronounce it Fez.

The subtitles spell it F-E-Z. And, how can something Kelso says be taken as true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.101.243.143 (talk) 01:55, 15 April 2009 (UTC) All material refers to him as Fez. Who vandalised the page here? --86.87.28.191 (talk) 21:10, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

vandalism[edit]

Is it "14:49, 23 July 2007 RMCQgIaSy (Talk | contribs) m (12,108 bytes) (minor typo corrections) (undo)" that vandalised the article by changing various words to rhyming slang?

Indeed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 00:32, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Homeland[edit]

A little research has given the answer to the matter of Fez' homeland, rather then the one of three that has been there until now. In case someone wants to know, here's the main points that lead to the conclusion:

  • The strongest point would most obviously be that Indonesia is 10.000 miles from Wisconsin [1]
  • There is no more Dutch influence in Sri Lanka, that would make sense for Fez speaking Dutch.
  • The Netherlands Antilles has no jungle.
  • Looking at the history, it would make most sense that the Brittish hated the Indonesians.JackSparrow Ninja (talk) 01:38, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

I would like to say fez came from the philippines. I reasearched it and he did for sure come from the philippines. If you would like to talk to me about this email me at Reed_Christman@live.com

Nicknames[edit]

My revision where I added a couple of Fez's nicknames has been reverted. Surprise surprise, the Wikipedia Nazis got to it. Regardless, all of the other kids from the show have a "Nicknames" entry in their profile section. In the interests of consistency, I think this character should have that too. Atouraya (talk) 22:38, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Stormtrooper?!?[edit]

Why is Stormtrooper one of Fez's nicknames? I can't remember his ever being called that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.202.127 (talk) 23:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind. He posed as a Stormtrooper to try and sleep with Donna. But it was one episode, and only for a few moments at the end.

Captain Pooface[edit]

I think Captain Pooface should be removed from the nicknames list, as he was only called that in the episode Picture Day in a flashback, and only being called a name once does not make it a nickname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.122.162.63 (talk) 23:16, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Four main characters[edit]

The first lines of the article mention "four main characters", when, actually, there are six (Eric, Donna, Hyde, Kelso, Fez, and Jackie), technically 9 (Red, Kitty and Bob), plus aditional former cast members (Laurie, Midge, Leo and Randy). There are NOT four main characters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 02:04, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Spelling of "Fez"[edit]

I have added multiple sources to establish that the character should be referred to as "Fez", not "Fes", even though the nickname is derived from "Foreign Exchange Student". These sources include the official site of the series and major newspapers. I will move the page back to Fez (That '70s Show). --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:26, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

relationship with Kelso[edit]

it seems at time that Fez has a repressed attraction to Kelso. Anyone else notice this? --74.178.228.178 (talk) 00:49, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Origin?[edit]

He says he speak dutch and in the german version he has spanish accent. This could come from a surrounding country or heritage, too and is maybe a sign for South America.. The only land, which was former British and then Dutch is Suriname. His parents could be emigrated from e.g. Columbia -- 12:19, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Sven Müller —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.52.35.170 (talk)

ABC Islands?[edit]

Since he can speak Dutch and he's spoken Spanish in the show before ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvTxkYnXb60 ) and he is from an island where the Dutch and British were, I think he's probably from Aruba. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.23.123.163 (talk) 20:05, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

The show implies that it is a Caribbean island with its association with the British and the Dutch; however, the show's creators have actually said that they don't know where Fez is from - because they never could decide on a country - so they made it a secret. Trying to claim in the article that he is from Suriname or Aruba or Indonesia or the Philippines is not going to do any good, since it can't be proven. Much like the state where Springfield is located. --70.181.184.7 (talk) 21:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Anything about the actual character here?[edit]

This article used to include quite a bit of material about Fez as a character (as opposed to his origins and unknowable nationality). Although these sections were on the whole badly written, poorly referenced and clogged with original research, I imagine at least some of the information can be restored, provided it can be properly sourced and represented, no? --70.181.184.7 (talk) 21:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Girlfriends[edit]

Could anyone sort them in the infoboy in chronologial order?

As far as I had come

  • Caroline (ex-girlfriend) (in 1978, season 4, for 5 episodes)
  • Big Rhonda (ex-girlfriend, in 1978, season 4, for 3 episodes) ->no break-up is menationed. The actress didn't reappear.
  • Nina (ex-girlfriend, in 1978, season 5, flirt beginning on episode 8 until episode 21)

those aren't sorted, except for Jackie:

  • Marsha Sullivan (ex-girlfriend)
  • Patty (ex-girlfriend)
  • Hillary (ex-girlfriend)
  • Jackie Burkhart (girlfriend)
