I disagree that it's patent nonsense, but should be removed from wikipedia nonetheless. Maybe a transwiki to wiktionary is in order? Pumeleon 01:57, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that I accidentally pressed the "Save Page" button early. I fixed it afterwards to what I intended it to be. Disagree with deletion request[edit]

This article needs EXPANSION and possible merging with existing articles, not deletion. There is a planned purpose for different types of film screening. See main article.

Film screenings are part of the production and release cycle of mass-market films, before they are widely released to theaters. In general, "screening" applies to the displaying of a film under special circumstances.

Screenings are presented here in rough chronological order:

Test screenings for early edits of a film
Focus groups - formal test screenings of an ostensibly complete film, with very detailed documentation of audience responses.
Private Screenings - for V.I.P.s, investors, media representatives to generate early buzz.
Critic Screenings - for national and major market critics in advance of print and television production-cycle deadlines.
Preview screenings - for the public, sometimes at boutique theaters (which are not slated for public paid audiences). Sneak previews, too.

I will take responsibility for providing the initial batch of references. I've commented out the tags in the main article.
