Books?[edit]

Nice work, but surely some book sources would be welcomed, right? Here are just a few: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8].
Also, is there any need for the Obama link? I don't really see the connection between the two - it is the only other inauguration for which we have an article, but when we have 50+, we won't have links to all of them, I hope. Better create a Category:United States Presidential inaugurations. - Biruitorul Talk 16:35, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the sources, certainly it's a work in progress. As the Wall Street Journal alludes, the Jackson inaugural was the first "modern" one in the sense of a public ceremony generating excitement among the common people - somewhat similar, no? As you mention the others, there really should be articles for all, then we can just have a navbox at the bottom. Joshdboz (talk) 17:44, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose, though I imagine the JFK inauguration (for instance) also generated quite a bit of buzz, and amidst some of the journalistic hyperbole we're seeing this week, we find at least two Kennedy inaugural comparisons as well: [9], [10]. Anyway, navbox + category does seem to be a good solution, eventually, and I do look forward to seeing this article expanded in the coming days (I'll contribute what I can). - Biruitorul Talk 18:05, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
