First prosthetic foot to store energy?

The article makes this claim but provides the reader no verifiability. Can anyone shed light. It seems that by the late 1980s, there were multiple products doing this and the Flex-Foot is not named by this NIH document: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2649039 --Ds13 (talk) 19:30, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Correction, the Flex-Foot is named in that article abstract, but in the context of being just one of six stored-energy devices. --Ds13 (talk) 19:35, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
