Mel Gibson's wife[edit]

"2004 - Mel Gibson and his darling, dearesr wife, Catherine Moselyer. " ya, im going to delete that. 68.214.156.57 (talk) 02:20, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jennifer Lopez[edit]

For some reason, Jennifer Lopez's name had the Puerto Rican flag next to it, instead of the US flag. Jennifer Lopez is from New York, not Puerto Rico. And even if she was from Puerto Rico: PR is a part of the US, and Puerto Ricans have US citizenship. It's no different than being from one of the states or the District of Columbia. I changed all the PR flags next to Lopez's name to the US flag. Skyduster (talk) 13:08, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright issue- January 2016[edit]

There appears to be a confusion as to whether this list falls under fair use. The consensus on other Forbes lists talk pages seems to be that having a part of the list (usually the top 10) falls under fair use, while publishing the entire list does not. Therefore, I suggest that someone edit down each of the respective years lists to only the top 10 to make sure that this falls under fair use.Fireflyfanboy (talk) 21:28, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No, theere's no confusion. Please read WP:Copyright in lists. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:49, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Top 10s count for FAIR USE. Please look it up.Fireflyfanboy (talk) 00:19, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am reducing the list to top-10 to better comply with our non-free content requirements. (I will finish the mark-up improvements later today.) It looks to me like there's consensus that top-10 is okay. Total removal of all such lists requires a wider discussion and consensus. The place to start for that is WP:NFCR. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:05, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2014 section incorrect[edit]

What's listed isn't 2014's highest-earning celebrities but the "Celebrity 100," which also takes into account reach and influence through fame, social media, etc. From the very link in that section, you can see that the top-1o are not listed in terms of income but in terms of "power." No. 3, Dr. Dre, at $620 million, for instance, tops everyone else on the list, and No. 7, Floyd Mayweather, at $105 million, should be No. 3. I don't know if Forbes had a highest-earning celebrities list that year -- sometimes their lists skip years.

Rank Name Age Earnings Category

  1. Beyonce Knowles 32 $115 M Musicians
  2. LeBron James 29 $72 M Athletes
  3. Dr. Dre 49 $620 M Musicians
  4. Oprah Winfrey 60 $82 M Personalities
  5. Ellen DeGeneres 56 $70 M Personalities
  6. Jay-Z 44 $60 M Musicians
  7. Floyd Mayweather 37 $105 M Athletes Mi
  8. Rihanna 26 $48 M Musicians
  9. Katy Perry 29 $40 M Musicians
  10. 1 Robert Downey Jr 49 $75 M Actors

The list is ordered as Forbes deems it to be. We should not be modifying the list based on our opinion of what defines a top celebrity.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 00:19, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In 2004 it should be oprah winfrey instead of Fiona Armstrong[edit]

In the 2004 table, change Fiona Armstrong's flag icon from USA to Great Britain.

More explanation below

In the table for 2004, Fiona Armstrong is number 3 on the list and has an American flag by her name despite her being a British citizen, having been born there and lived and worked there all her life. Further down the same year's list are both the Rolling Stones and JK Rowling, each with flags of Great Britain next to their names. 47.17.164.63 (talk) 17:02, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done Thanks for noticing. No clue why the flag was American when she's clearly British. —Belwine (talk) 20:21, 10 March 2021 (UTC

shouldn't the rock be part of this list? 99.228.177.78 (talk) 01:50, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Cannolis (talk) 03:10, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
