I have expanded the scope of this article into Sweden, and moved it to another common name, the Fosna-Hensbacka culture.--Wiglaf 18:57, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Ineffective link to Pauler (Larvik)[edit]

Hi, this link leads to a page about people named Pauler, not about a place near Larvik.

The given dates (c. 8300 BCE – 7300 BCE, or 12000 cal BP – 10500 cal BP) are not comparable: 8300 BCE should equal 10250 cal BP and 7300 BCE should equal 9250 cal BP. It would appear that the BCE dates given here have been derived from the uncalibrated radiocarbon dates, since calibrating the derived BP dates (10250 and 9250 bp) gives calibrated medians of approximately 12000 cal BP and 10500 cal BP. Thus, the (calibrated) BCE range should probably be c. 10000 - 8500 BCE. However, the Swedish version of this page gives yet another set of dates (7600 - 6500 BCE) and the Norwegian yet a third one (10500 - 6200/7600 BCE). The oldest actual site date (c. 10200 bp uncal. from Pauler 1 near Larvik) falls a bit short of 10000 cal BC (BCE), so the 10500 BCE date has a relatively large "safety margin", but 10000 BCE is a good bet for the beginning and the "end" is probably clearly later than 8500 BCE. --Jarmo K.
