William Lyman Involvement in Question[edit]

There is conflicting facts of Will Lyman's initial involvement with the series. The Frontline wiki article states that "Will Lyman is the distinctive voice who has narrated the series since its inception in 1983"; contradicting the wiki article for Will Lyman which states "[Lyman's] resonant voice that has narrated the PBS series Frontline since its second season in 1984."

PBS Frontline wins best Documentary in the 2024 Oscars[edit]

According to this article PBS Frontline and the Associated Press wins an Oscar in the Best Documentary category for their coverage in the Ukraine war called "20 Days in Mariupol"

Recent reports[edit]

Now that we have the List of Frontline (PBS) episodes I think the recent reports section should be removed from this article. None of the recent reports are dated so it's a little hard to tell how recent they really are. Even if they were dated, it would need constant updating with the older reports transferred to the episode list. As it is now, the recent reports haven't been updated in almost a year. Proposed History section[edit]

For a programme like this, I think a history section is in order - as well as briefly talking about predecessors like "NET Journal" and "PBS World" (not to be confused with the digital TV channel of the same name). --Daniel Blanchette 04:44, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Funding[edit]

In Frontline's early days, production of the show was funded entirely by the stations (hence the original opening, "From the network of public broadcasting stations, including…" followed by a list of several major-market PBS members). Wikipedia formatting rules call for changing ALLCAPS to Sentence case (e.g., TIME magazine is rendered Time magazine; KISS (musical band) is rendered Kiss) unless it is an initialism (e.g., IBM, IKEA) See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Trademarks I added the show's own use of allcaps as a parenthetical which matches the articles about Time and Kiss.Kaltenmeyer (talk) 16:01, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Frontline (U.S. TV program) → Frontline – The proposed target is already a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT here so WP:PRIMARYTOPIC here is established. The current title is unnecessary disambiguation; the proposed title is more WP:CONCISE and therefore meets WP:CRITERIA better. Also, per WP:NCTV: the article title for any topic related to television should be simply the most common word or phrase used to describe that topic. In particular, if the title of a television program is sufficiently unambiguous compared to any other topics or is considered to be the primary topic, then let that also be the title of the article; for example, The Prisoner or Guiding Light. Here is the page views for all of that for the last two months. Based on this – no, the U.S. TV program is not even close to the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC: it barely beats out the magazine, and doesn't much best the Australian TV series either.

Oppose not the primary topic. This request is also intentionally not complete as it doesn't deal with the sub-pages of the US TV program which would also change and cause confusing as both have a "List of Frontline episodes", making that title very ambiguous. WP:CONCISE, WP:CRITERIA and WP:NCTV have nothing to do with nom's argument (as that can be used for any other entry using that title) and are used either mistakenly or as a misdirection.--Gonnym (talk) 07:01, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Strong oppose There is no way its the primary topic per IJBall's stats. That's before you take into account the other topics like Frontline Ltd. which surely is known by "Frontline", not to mention Front line per WP:ASTONISH and PT#2. Nom is correct that Foo should not redirect to Foo (qualifier) or Foo, Qualifier (and should be moved in the place of the redirect) the current redirect is incorrect and should be changed back to Front line (disambiguation). Opppose as not the primary topic. Agree with IJBall that there are many articles with 'Frontline' in the title, with the magazine and Australian TV program not far off the US program. Also, I think the disambiguation page should take the place of Frontline, and act as the disambig page.
