Abbreviations

[edit]

WP:ABBR Wikipedia allows the use of acronyms and abbreviations but the MOS page starts with:

"Always consider whether it is better to simply write a word or phrase out in full, thus avoiding potential confusion for those not familiar with its abbreviation. "

There are arguments for consistency and there are arguments to be made about whether titles should be included or not (not needed in a flat Cast list but yes in a descriptive Character list), but this is supposed to be an encyclopedia and we're not short of space so in most cases clarity is more important than brevity. Shortening Doctor to Dr. is a relatively simple example, and even readers with English as a second language will probably understand it (compared to the heavy use of abbreviations of military titles which are difficult) and shortening Detective to Det. is less simple, but every abbreviation adds slightly to the reading effort and there is no real advantage to using the shorter form. -- 109.79.60.222 (talk) 12:33, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Family name

[edit]

I've changed the references from "Futterman" to "Futturman", which matches the nametag visible on the character's janitor uniform. Joule36e5 (talk) 01:18, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers

[edit]

Parts of this article are needlessly detailed with Plot information that spoils the show. The character descriptions in particular do not need that level of detail - I removed the spoilers for the final episode - but I think there are other pieces of information that are likewise unnecessary such as alternate versions of characters. Save detailed plot information for lower in the article where episode summaries make it clear that plot is being revealed. 2607:FEA8:A420:82F0:C442:C4F7:E8BA:ADF2 (talk) 11:46, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:SPOILERS, and particularly take note of the warning It is not acceptable to delete information from an article because you think it spoils the plot. If someone doesn't want to know certain details about a work, they should not read an encyclopedia article about that work. That is just common sense. Wikipedia does not ever censor its content to avoid spoilers. CodeTalker (talk) 19:42, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, someone undo these unhelpful edits. "Hey, we should really blank most of this article" is never actually helpful to WP:READERS. — LlywelynII 03:52, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Budget cuts"

[edit]

Since it's nonsensical that adding media files to streaming involves any cost whatsoever, the repeated mentions of Disney completely pulling the show's accessibility due to "budget cuts" needs to be clarified as the nonsense it is and the actual reason provided.

Screwing over people potentially owed royalties, hardball treatment of the writers, or execs' disgust at a show that had penis-displaying/swapping climate-change-denying antivaxxers as 2 of its 3 leads... whatever it was (and it was almost certainly the third one) needs to be explained clearly and sourced as well as possible. — LlywelynII 03:52, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
