Initial Edit

[edit]

I've created this page because I believe that it is am important topic to talk about. However, I do recognize how difficult it is to describe and I'll do my best to get this page off the ground in the next couple of days.

Right now, I plan to add base details using a couple articles written about game feel and connect up the references. If I feel it's appropriate, I'll make/find some images to accompany the text.

Generalize beyond video games

[edit]

I agree that this is an important topic. However, it comes up with all forms of games, not just video games. For example, the size, heft, and tactile feel of physical game pieces can affect a game's overall enjoyment. In Go, the sound a piece makes as it is placed on the board is important, as are the fact that the game stones are slightly larger than the spaces between points, so that some visual irregularity is created by pieces as they are placed on the board's grid.

How should this issue best be handled? Should this article be generalized or should there be a general article for all games that then refers to this one for video games? What is the best approach? Contributor tom (talk) 02:26, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'd be interested in reading about game feel in card games and board games, but I don't know what kind of sources exist on that topic. I can imagine it being an entirely different topic, actually... ~Mable (chat) 10:10, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
