Garet Jax and Stee Jans[edit]

I was looking through the World of Shannara book a few years back, which I've since been unable to find for purchase, and I remember reading about a theory many people have formed that Garet Jax and Stee Jans (the Free Corps Commander from Elfstones of Shannara) are one and the same, and that he was immortal. I can't remember any of the particulars, but if anyone knows this theory, it would be good to have it added to the article.

It was in the book itself. I've never been able to find it since that one time, but apparently they're re-releaseing it with a new cover in September. Here's the quote from www.terrybrooks.net;

"It has also been decided to put the newly expanded version of The World of Shannara on hold. The publisher and I think it might be a good idea to hold off on this version until after the first three books in the new series so that some of that material can be included. That will give Teresa Patterson, our valued writer of The World of Shannara, more to work with and the readers more to delve into. In the meantime, you can still get a copy of the old version of The World of Shannara, which will be reissued in September 2005 with a new cover."[1]

That's actually from a letter Terry wrote in December 2004, so the time of release might be different now.

They can't be the same...wouldn't the age be different? And I cried when Garet died...

Garet Jax and Stee Jans can't be the same. They have some mjaor differences. Stee Jans has hazel eyes while Garet Jax has grey eyes. And Stee Jans has some scars on his face while Garet Jax has none. Eyes and scars of people does not change. I got these information from The Elfstones of Shannara and The Wishsong of Shannnara. So the theory in The World of Shannara cannot be true.Pyromaniac589 15:31, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
